"Dr. Sasidharan Klari was born as the son of Sri. K Narayanan Nambissan and late Smt. Ammini Nambissan in 1958 at Klari, Malappuram district in Kerala state. He has acquired a degree in Mathematics and a post graduation in Malayalam Literature. He has obtained Doctorate from University of Calicut in, “The Influence of other art forms on Kathakali.” He is noted for his fabulous activities in the fields of art criticism and research. He has bagged the Krishnageethi Essay Award of Guruvayur Devaswam (1998, 2004), State award for poetry by the Teachers’ Art and Literature Samithy (2001), Essay Award of Ambalappuzha Kunjan Memorial (2001, 2008), Thunjan Memorial Essay Award of Kerala Sahithya Accademy (2001), Award of Kerala Folklore Accademy (2010) and Prof. Joseph Mundassery Award of Kerala General Education Department (2011).
His major works are, Ekalavyam (Collection of poetry), Nadodi parambaryum Thunjanteyum Kunjanteyum krithikalil (Study), Keraleeya Kala Manasam (Study), Vettathunattile Thottampattukal (Research), Keraleeya Kalakal (A study about the art forms of Kerala), Keralathile Nadan pattukal Oru Samagra Padanam, Keraleeya Kala Nighantu, Keralathile Nadan Kalakal, and Kathakaliyile Ulcheralukal (Research).
